Project Background

Beijing Daxing International Airport fully implements the benchmark framework of a “Safe, Green, Smart, and People-Oriented Airport” and is committed to creating a new generation of smart airports across five key areas: smart management, smart operations, smart services, smart safety, and smart innovation.

By building a unified monitoring and management platform, the airport integrates monitoring of multiple systems and devices — including power distribution and environmental conditions — into one centralized platform. It also serves as a data management platform, utilizing data collection, processing, statistical analysis, and smart monitoring software to achieve the required application management capabilities.

Solution

The smart airport data center operations and maintenance management platform at Beijing Daxing International Airport was officially launched in the terminal area in September 2019.

The current scope of the platform at Beijing Daxing International Airport covers the terminal and transfer center, as well as the parking facility. The terminal and transfer center area contains a total of 175 low-voltage data rooms, including 2 PCR main equipment rooms, 9 DCR equipment rooms, 27 UPS equipment rooms and supporting low-voltage rooms. The parking facility contains 2 UPS equipment rooms and 36 low-voltage data rooms, all of which use traditional data center configurations.

The smart airport data center operations and maintenance management platform acts as a unified operation and communication platform that provides real-time monitoring and analysis of the airport data center’s infrastructure (including power systems, environmental systems, IT asset systems, energy systems, and their operational parameters and status). It also utilizes the enterprise service bus to standardize data interface protocols, facilitating data exchange with the data visualization platform, BIM platform, unified communication platform, automated operations platform, and equipment repair and maintenance systems. This enables airport data center managers to stay informed of infrastructure operating conditions, manage assets, capacity, energy consumption, and perform unified operations and maintenance — ultimately improving resource utilization and management efficiency.
