Project Background

The existing power and environmental monitoring system for the equipment rooms was built in earlier years, with relatively immature technology, limited stability, incomplete functionality, and non-intuitive interfaces. After years of use, the system has gradually revealed multiple shortcomings, such as frequent communication interruptions and false alarms. Rather than facilitating operations and maintenance, it has become a burden on staff and fails to ensure the safe operation of the equipment rooms. Therefore, this project aims to upgrade and enhance the existing monitoring system, expanding the monitoring scope and optimizing system functionality.

Monitoring Scope

The system covers the main equipment room of the Jinan Railway Bureau Information Technology Center (including the main equipment room, air conditioning room, power distribution room, and UPS room) and the Dispatch Center equipment rooms (including the new underground battery room, new third-floor wiring room, fourth-floor wiring room, and new second-floor equipment room), among others.

Solution

By deploying distributed data acquisition units in combination with the Jitong Intelligent centralized monitoring platform, the project enables integrated, networked monitoring of the main equipment room, dispatch center equipment rooms, and other facilities under the Jinan Railway Bureau.

Monitoring includes: power distribution cabinets, circuit breakers, UPS systems, batteries, air conditioning units, temperature and humidity sensors, water leakage detection, smoke detectors, video surveillance, and access control systems.

Achieved Value

The system enables comprehensive monitoring and management of power, environmental, and security devices across multiple equipment rooms, establishing a centralized and remote management framework. With a dual-machine hot standby design, the monitoring platform ensures stable and uninterrupted operation. It supports a transition from fully staffed operation to low or unmanned operation, promoting intelligent maintenance and enhancing the overall efficiency and security of equipment room management.
